KAUA`I MOKIHANA FESTIVAL HULA COMPETITION
GENERAL RULES - ALL DIVISIONS

  1. There must be a minimum of three halau/soloist to make a division valid.

  2. Halau/soloist MUST do a hula ka’i and hula ho’i.

  3. There is no time limit.

  4. One point each will be given for the following:

    1. Meet the application deadline (1st Friday in August)

    2. COMPLETED Application which includes:

      1. Application Form

      2. Copy of Chant

      3. Song Lyrics

      4. Photo

      5. Media Release Form

      6. Video Release Form

  5. All ties will be broken and determined by the appropriate judge(s).

  6. Cash awards will be given for the top three places in each division.

  7. Halau must enter at least one group division to enter a soloist. Group divisions include Kaikamahine, Keiki Kane, Hui/Ohana, Kupuna, Wahine & Kane.

An automatic 5 points will be deducted if the deadline is NOT met. (1st Friday in August)
